Regardless of the type of relationship (engaged, married, cohabitating, throuple, etc.), we can work with you to help navigate difficulties in your relationship and hopefully build stronger ones with more strength and connection. On average, couples wait 7 years before they seek counseling for a problem in their relationship, and oftentimes they could have avoided things getting worse if they had sought help earlier. Intimacy issues, Infidelity, pre-marital, open relationships, and communication issues are just some of the reasons couples seek our help. We continue to work from a systemic perspective with couples, and we see the couple unit as our client.

Family is at the core of everything we do at Family Table Counseling. If you and your family are struggling with conflict or just want to improve upon your relationship as a family unit, we can help you. We approach family therapy from multiple perspectives.

Food is emotional, it creates connections, and can invoke creativity. It can also function as a source of anxiety and extreme stress for some people. We want to support our clients and their families on their recovery journey through whatever eating disorders they may have trouble with. This can be clients who are continuing with maintenance of their eating disorder recovery, currently struggling with disordered eating, body image issues, body dysmorphia, and gender dysphoria. There are so many great reasons to see specialists for an eating disorder. The best reason is the one that leaves you feeling empowered.

“EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes, showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences (Maxfield, 2019). EMDR therapy has even been superior to Prozac in trauma treatment (Van der Kolk et al., 2007). Shapiro and Forrest (2016) share that EMDR therapists in 130 countries have successfully treated millions.” (emdria.org)
